Fully Client-Side
Zero-Backend. Two programs share one local database on your device: the UI app and a Service Worker that runs background tasks and notifications. No servers mean no database leaks, no outages, and no company folding with your logs.
Long lists trigger shutdown. One task at a time is manageable. When you finish, it disappears. The next one appears. That's it.
Lists of tasks are overwhelming. Tear Off shows you one at a time. No account needed. Your data stays local.

Tear Off exists because nothing else worked. Every feature is here because someone needed it to manage executive dysfunction.

Built to WCAG 2.2 AAA standards. Multiple dyslexia-friendly fonts, high-contrast themes, large tap targets, keyboard navigability, and screen-reader support are baked directly into the layout from day one, not added at the end.
The app does not need internet because there is no remote server to ping. Airplane mode? Works. Subways? Works. The open web used to work this way—and it still can.
"Not Today" is a valid option. "Already Did It" validates fuzzy memory. No streaks, no guilt, no metric tracking. Tear Off validates that capacity changes daily, but your worth does not.
Your tasks and life data are yours. We built Tear Off so that we literally cannot access your information, even if we wanted to.
Tear Off does not collect, aggregate, or sell personal data. Your tasks, templates, and schedule details stay strictly local to your browser.
We load no Google Analytics, no telemetry, no cookie tracking, and no external CDNs. We have no trackers "to improve user experience."
All data resides in your browser's sandboxed IndexedDB storage. If you clear your browser site data, your task records are deleted.
You can export your database as raw JSON anytime from the settings. No premium upgrade needed to access your own data.
Your tasks, schedule, and capacity logs stay on your device. We can't see them, we don't want to see them, and we designed the system so that's impossible.
TearOff Today's Routines let you easily add routines to your day. These can help people with executive funtion issue to remind them of daily activites that get lost in the noise.

I think the TearOff.today web app is about 95% compliant with the WCAG 2.2 AAA spec. I also think that last 5% is going to be hard. There will be bugs…
